In Gothenburg, Sweden, Tokyo and Hannes Ahlmann, this year’s winners of the Neustadt/Dosse Grand Prix, were once again highly successful: The daughter of Toulon out of a Cassini I dam (Jürgen Böge, Bunsoh), line 7492, took second place over 1.45 metres. Caillan by Casall-Carry (Gerd Ohlsen, Föhr), line 18A2, and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson also finished fourth.
In the 1.50-metre show jumping class at the Gothenburg Horse Show, the association-approved stallion Zuccero HV by Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), line 4539, and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson finished sixth.
Three Holsteiners were among the top six in the 1.45-metre show jumping competition in Vejer de la Frontera (ESP): leading the way was Dubai by Chin Champ-Casall (Ingeborg Karstens-Block, Hagen), line 7126, who won the class with Swiss rider Peter Burri in the saddle. Taking the bronze was Casago II by Casall-Carthago (Martien van der Brüggen/NED), line 8749, and Patrick Hickey (IRL). Kannantos by Kannan-Casiro I (Johannes Wiejngaarden/SRB), ridden by Jesus Torres Garcia (ESP), came sixth.
In Nice (FRA), Zornell II by Zirocco Blue-Colman (Karl Heinz Peters, Wöhrden), line 730B, won a difficult show jumping competition. Charlotte Slosse (FRA) rode the stallion.
Shortly before the end of his competition tour in the United Arab Emirates, Robin Naeve from Schleswig-Holstein won another 1.45-metre show jumping competition with his top horse Casalia R by Casall-Loran (ZG Redderberg, Ahrensbök), line 1907, yet another 1.45-metre show jumping competition. This tour is likely to have left the rider feeling very satisfied, as it was here that he won, amongst other things, his first World Ranking show jumping competition in Al Ain with the mare.
Dressage
In Wellington (USA), riders competed in the dressage arena this weekend for, amongst other things, a Nations Cup. Devanto (Holger Wesselmann, Kellinghusen), a son of De Chirico and Lorentin, line 49, took second place in the Grand Prix Freestyle at this competition with Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén (SWE) in the saddle.
