Last weekend, the DKB Horse Week took place at the Erdbeerhof Glantz. The competition was seen as a stepping stone towards this year’s European Championships, and so numerous top riders took the opportunity to compete in Hohen Wieschedorf. Sophie Hinners, for example, secured fourth place in the Youngster Tour for seven-year-olds with her Uriko-Centurion son Iron Dames Uriel (Jan-Kai Hansen, Wiemerstedt), line 7299. In the six-year-olds’ class, Merrie W by Del Arko d’Henvet-For Pleasure (Matthias Kühlmann, Rietberg), line 162, secured victory with Tom Schewe in the saddle. The two Holsteiner Verband stallions, Crack HV by Cornet Obolensky out of Candillo (Campos de Cria de Caballos, Spain), line 1020, and United Way by Uriko out of Concerto II (Holsteiner Verband, Elmshorn), line 1916, also returned to Elmshorn with rosettes. Crack HV and Arne van Heel (NED) finished twelfth in the four-star Grand Prix over 1.60 metres. A frustrating knockdown at the final fence prevented them from qualifying for the jump-off. United Way and Lucas Wenz also took third place in the two-star Grand Prix (1.45 metres). Fifth place in this jumping competition also went to Peter Jacob Thomsen and his Clooney by Clarimo-Carpaccio (Peter Fr. Petersen, Ahrenshöft), line 8456.
Fifth, seventh and ninth places in Saturday’s Intermediate Tour final were also awarded to Holsteiners. In this 1.50-metre show jumping competition, Coquetto by Cornet Obolensky–Casquetto (Witt Pferdezucht Gbr, Wellinghusen), line 2067, finished fifth under Hannes Ahlmann. Seventh place went to Canmore by Casall-Contender (Birgit Becker, Metelen), line 18A2, ridden by Markus Renzel, and Carlotta H by Connor-Clearway (Wolfgang Höttler, Ahnatal), line 370, also managed to secure a place in the top ten with Benjamin Wulschner.
Eventing
At the same time, an eventing competition took place in Baborówko, Poland. Several Holsteiners also excelled here: in the CCI4*S class, Julia Krajweski and Nickel
by Numero Uno-Lorentin (Hindrick Stüvel, Rosengarten), line 4303, took the win. In the CCI3*-S, Antonia Baumgart and Ris de Talm
by Adagio de Talma-Carvallo (Hans-Niko Höck, Großsolt), line 8626, took the win. Furthermore, Felix Vogg and Frieda
by Casalito-Heraldik xx (Jörger Harder, Wewelsfleth), line 749, came second in the CCI4*-L class.
Furthermore, London
by Landos-Quinar (Ocke Riewerts, Föhr), line 3200, added another success to his career. Riding in front of a home crowd in Bicton, he and Laura Collett (GBR) won the CCIO4*-S event, riding Dacapo
by Diarado-Canturo (ZG Bock, Schülp), line 8805; the British rider also finished third.
