Holsteiner Results: Victories in Dublin and Rockwood

In Rockwood, Canada, Kent Farrington and his successful horse Austria by Casall-Corrado I (Heide M. Kriegler, Sigless), line 4564, won a 1.50-metre class. In addition, another Casall offspring, Cascalretto (by Calando I), line 776, finished fifth. The gelding was bred by Pieter Dolfsma (NED) and was ridden by the American Vanessa Hood. He began his competitive career in Germany under Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann.

Kristen Vanderveen’s (USA) Bull Run’s Jireh by Uriko-Colman (line 890), bred by Timm Peters (Bargenstedt), is just eight years old. Together, the pair have already enjoyed several international successes at 1.45-metre level – most recently finishing fifth this weekend in Rockwood.

At the five-star Nations Cup in Ireland, Nayel Nassar (EGY) rode his Coronado by Cassini I-Accord II (Karl-Heinz Markussen, Hochviöl), line 8828, to victory in the 1.60-metre show jumping class with a jump-off. A Holsteiner also took second place: C-Vier by Cardento-Concorde (W. Wolters, Groningen), line 8818, and Cian O’Connor (IRL) secured the silver medal.

Dark Chocolate by Casall-Acodetto I (ZG Oldekop/Hulshof, Schönwalde), line 3389, and Dennis Lynch (IRL) also enjoyed great success in Dublin: The pair won the Young Horses Tour over 1.45 metres, just as they had done in Leipzig earlier this year.

In the 1.60-metre show jumping, two riders on Holsteiner horses secured podium places: Megane Moissonnier (FRA) rode Cordial by Casall-Chicago Z (Hans-Hermann Gempf, Stelle), line 325, and took silver. Martin Fuchs (SUI) and his Connor son Conner JEI (sire: Cosimo), bred by Gerhard Stamer (Duvensee), line 8778, secured bronze. Confu by Contact Me-Cambridge (Kai Gerken, Lasbek), line 4705, and Laura Kraut (USA) came sixth.
