Theo is a son of Christian-Calando IV (Jenny Abrahamsson, SWE), line 8856, and added two victories (1.45 and 1.50 metres) to his track record this weekend in Dinard (FRA) with Conor Swail (IRL) in the saddle. Among other things, the pair have already enjoyed victories this year in Calgary (CAN) and Thermal (USA). Incidentally, the chestnut horse earned the most points for the Holsteiner Verband in the latest WBFSH interim rankings, propelling the association to first place in the show jumping rankings.
Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) had saddled Cous Cous for the Bemer Riders Tour qualifier in Donaueschingen. The Cachas-Lasino offspring (Norbert Schmalbach, Mollhagen), line 18B1, won the 1.45-metre show jumping class. “Cous Cous is very well-built, clever and careful,” said Dreher of the grey, with whom he has already enjoyed success in World Cup competitions. Fourth place went to Cassis S by Casall-Cartani (Josef Schmid, Schenkon), line 1916, ridden by Günter Treiber (GER).
In the Nations Cup in Prague, a horse that had once enjoyed international success with David Will (GER) took centre stage at the prize-giving ceremony: C-Vier by Cardento-Concorde (Wilma Wolters/NED), line 8818, is now ridden by Isabella Russekoff and won the Nations Cup over 1.60 metres for Israel. With this victory, the Israeli team secured their Olympic qualification for Paris 2024. In second place were Chepettano by Chepetto-Calido I (Christiane Tropschug, Bokel), line 1020, and Maksymilian Wechta for Poland, which also secured qualification for Paris. Fifth place went to Locanto RN by Glock’s London-Canturo (Reimer Nagel, Marne), line 18B1, and Ales Opatrny (CZE).
Last weekend, Hagen am Teutoburger Wald hosted the Teuto Rising Stars, a top-class competition for young riders. In the U25 Grand Prix over 1.50 metres, there was a home victory to celebrate: Max Haunhorst (GER), whose family hosted the event, rode Carlov. Cassus-For Pleasure (Jürgen Hattebuhr, Winsen), line 7709, to victory. Second place went to Ciro by Conlander-Casall (Tjeert Rijkens, Elmshorn), line 7369, and Marie Flick (GER).
Dressur
Darling is a daughter of Damon Hill and is by none other than the famous Mira G by Linaro – who is, amongst others, the dam of Helen Langehanenberg’s Annabelle by Conteur, Amber by Ampère and De Chirico by Dolany. With Katharina Dülffer (GER) in the saddle, the mare is enjoying success among young riders and won an FEI class for juniors in Neu-Anspach this weekend.
