In Kessel, the Netherlands, the crowd celebrated the victory of Con Quidam RB by Quinar-Cardino (ZG Bröcking, Borken), line 1446, ridden by Sanne Thijssen (NED). The bay is now 18 years old, but that has done nothing to dampen his will to win – this year he has continued what he began in 2023 with his €100,000 victory in the Grand Prix at Valkenswaard (NED): He has already won top-level show jumping competitions in Vejer de la Frontera (ESP) and Mexico City (MEX). Comthago VDL by Comme il faut–Carthago (Wilhelm Kochs, Eschweiler), line 3697, took fifth place in Kessel with Hessel Hoekstra (NED) in the saddle.
Cashew CR is by Cassini II out of Quinar and has won a 1.50-metre Grand Prix in the USA, specifically in Devon. The gelding was bred by Georg Clausen (Rabenkirchen), line 4539, and is ridden by Alex Matz (USA).
In the Grand Prix at Lier (BEL), Lireu by Legolas-Landgraf I (Hans Dietrich Wree, Hochviöl), line 5964, took second place with the Swiss rider Niklaus Schurtenberger. Fassida VA by Diamant de Semilly-Capitol I (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld), line 3389, took fourth place with Roy van Beek (BEL).
Dark Fire by Darcodello–Quick Fire (Sport a Media/SLO), line 2666, topped the podium in the 1.45-metre Grand Prix in Samorin (SVK). He was ridden by Adam Grzegorzewski (POL).
In Athens (GRE), two Holsteiners performed very well in the 1.45-metre class: Cresco by Cornet Obolensky–Calato (Hans-Jürgen Frank, Mielkendorf), line 5677, took second place with Dimitri Natsis (GRE). Also, Cassirano del Rilate by Cassini I-Coriano (Alessandro Mingoli/ITA), line 703, came fourth with Luca Coata (ITA).
