Victory in Doha for Holstein! Quisandro by Quintero-Gaspari I (Hans Jörgen Juhl, Toftlund/DEN), line 1094, took first place in the 1.50-metre Grand Prix under the saddle of Abdullah Al Sharbatly, having remained clear of faults in both the first round and the jump-off. Iron Dames High Level by Livelllo-King Milford xx (Jens Hauschildt, Seester), line 95, also achieved this feat, finishing just behind in second place with Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann.
It was a year ago that the Casall son Cloudio (MV. Cassini I) was crowned winner of the 1.60-metre Grand Prix in Hong Kong, celebrating the first major success of his career. In the saddle was Richard Vogel, who has since celebrated countless top-class placings with the grey, bred by Heike Arendt (Sollwitt), line 5889. These include appearances in Aachen, Spruce Meadows and Geneva. Now the pair have once again secured sixth place in Hong Kong. In ninth place were Cous Cous by Cachas-Lasino (Norbert Schmalbach, Mollhagen), line 18B1, and Hans-Dieter Dreher.
Martin Bachmann has bred Maddox MB: the son of Million Dollar-Ibisco xx is ridden by the Swiss rider Timo Heiniger and represents line 49. The pair took silver in the Opglabbeek Grand Prix over 1.45 metres.
