Holsteiner Results: Victory for Carjatan S in Baborówko

It was a nail-biting affair right up to the very end of the four-star short class in Baborówko, Poland: Christoph Wahler (GER) and his horse Carjatan S by Clearway-Galant vert xx (Carl-Friedrich Söhrmann, Groß Buchwald), stock number 6788, went into the final jumping round in third place. They completed the round without any faults over the jumps; only 0.4 penalty points were added for exceeding the time limit by one second – they kept their nerve and were rewarded for it. This was because the previous leaders had to concede victory to Wahler and his grey after knocking down obstacles on the course. “He’s a fantastic and very careful jumper and has proved that once again today,” said the rider happily.

Timmo by Timolino xx-Carlos D (Ole Lehmann, Grästen), line 6042, and Nicolai Aldinger (GER) galloped their way to the bronze medal. The pair were one of only two to clock the fastest time over the cross-country course, thereby securing an excellent third place.

In the three-star (short) class, three Holsteiners made a fantastic impression with placings in third, fourth and fifth. Merel Blom-Hulsmann (NED) was delighted with the performances of Lortero by Lord Z-Quintero (Björn Nagel, Friedrichskoog), line 504, and Diego TH by Diarado-Colman (Thiede Stables, Westerdeichstrich), line 390. Her two Holsteiners finished in third and fourth place. Nickel by Numero Uno-Lorentin I (Hindrick Stüvel, Rosengarten), line 4303, and Julia Krajewski (GER) came fifth.

In Hohenwieschendorf, Enno Glantz and his team had organised a four-star competition under excellent conditions. In the Grand Prix, Cellato by Cellestial-Calato (Jörn Kusel, Visselhoevede), line 318D2, and Michael Kölz (AUT) finished sixth. In a 1.50-metre course, Marcus Ehning (GER) rode Flower Girl by Hickstead-Catoki to second place. The mare was bred by Michal Szadkowski and belongs to line 628B. Third place went to D-Coroquada by Contender-Coronado I (Manfred Tummes, Mühlheim), line 4539, and Gerrit Nieberg (GER). The mare is the half-sister to Hans-Dieter Dreher’s Elysium by Zirocco Blue. Holsteiners also stood out with very good placings at the 1.55-metre level – in the Hohenwieschendorf Championship: For example, Camilla van de Helle by L.B. Crumble-Casall (Klaus Thiedemann, Oesterwurth), line 2543, with Kevin Jochems (NED) in fourth place. Or Coolio by Casalito-Quidam de Revel (Martina Wirtz, Hohenzieritz), line 2067, and Marcus Ehning (GER) in fifth place.

Quel Homme de Hus by Quidam de Revel-Candillo (Dr Andreas Kosicki, Berlin), line 4847, and Jérôme Guéry (BEL) finished second in the 1.55-metre Grand Prix at Macon Chaintré (FRA), having already achieved excellent results last week at the Global Champions Tour leg in Madrid.

At the Nations Cup in Rome (ITA), Equine America Cacharel by Cachas-Quinar (Helmut Bohm, Haselund), line 5951, and Joseph Stockdale (GBR) finished fourth in the Grand Prix.
