Holsteiner Results: Victory for Bull Run’s Jireh in Ocala

In the USA, Kuwait and Spain, Holstein horses secured victories and placings last weekend. 

In Kuwait (KUW), the Quantum son Qualifying de Hus (sire: Alcatraz) jumped to victory in a 1.45-metre show jumping class. The gelding was bred by Reiner Schmitz of Wachtberg, line 1752, and was ridden by Ali Al Khurafi (KUW). Another Holsteiner took third place in this class: GK C’est un Rêve by Comme il faut-Larimar (Manfred Kummetz, Lübeck), line 4510, ridden by Hussain Alkharafi (KUW). 

In Ocala (USA), Lyjanair by Lyjanero-Coriano (Wendy Davis Gerrish/USA), line 474A, added a further US$55,000 to his career earnings. In the 1.55-metre course, he and Richard Spooner (USA) finished third. Carissimo by Cascadello I–Clinton I (Sport a Media/SLO), line 2666, ridden by Aaron Vale (USA), came seventh. 

Here, Kristen Vanderveen’s successful partner Bull Run’s Jireh won a 1.50-metre class. Jireh by Uriko-Colman (Timm Peters, Bargenstedt), line 890, continues to deliver for his rider, racking up victories and placings in the most challenging show jumping events. Cornwall BH by Con Air-Cambridge (Jessica Morgenroth, Krummesse), line 4025, and Amanda Derbyshire (GBR) finished sixth. 

Cool Quarz by Quarz-Cassini I (Gundula Henningsen, Rantrum), line 2004, and Shawn Casady came second in a 1.55-metre show jumping competition in Thermal (USA). Barclino B by Barcley-Lasino (Hans Brinkop, Neumünster), line 4564, and Skylar Wireman (USA) took third place. Theo by Christian-Calando IV (Gerhard Krätzer, Loit), line 8865, and Conor Swail (IRL) took sixth place. 

Julien Epaillard (FRA) rode Carisma by Casall-Clarimo (Holsteiner Breeders’ Association, Elmshorn), line 776, to first place in a 1.40-metre show jumping competition in Oliva (ESP). This pair was followed by Haquinsa by Sandro Boy-Quintero (Tobias Kälterer, Hattenhofen), line 104A, and Jérôme Guéry (BEL).
