Holsteiner Results: A perfect start to the season for Carlitos Quidditch K, JL ...

These two are clearly still on the road to success: Carlitos Quidditch K by Quiwi Dream-Cassini I (Miriam Kühl, Steinfeld), line 6082, and Malin Hansen-Hotopp have won the three-star short class in Luhmühlen to kick off the cross-country season. This means the grey and his rider are starting this year in the same form in which they finished the previous ones: in 2023, they were part of the German team at the European Championships in Haras du Pin (FRA), which won silver – at the time, the rider’s first senior championship. In 2024, their achievements included a fantastic fourth place in the five-star classic in Kentucky (USA) and in the cross-country at Aachen’s Soers.

And at Thoresby Park (GBR), too, two Holsteiners with a proven track record of success got the season off to a promising start: JL Dublin by Diarado-Canto (Volker Göttsche-Götze, Groß Buchwald), line 1907, won the four-star short class with Tom McEwen (GBR). His team-mate from the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, where the British team won gold – London by Landos-Quinar (Ocke Riewerts, Föhr), line 3200 – and Laura Collett came third.

There is another Holsteiner eventing victory to report from the weekend: the former National Champion ridden by Andreas Dibowski, Lillet by Livello-Calido I (Morena Petersen, Ahrenviöl), line 776, galloped to victory in the CCI3*-S in Temecula (USA). The mare, who came to Dibowski via the Holsteiner Elite Riding Horse Auction, moved to the stables of the American Tamra Smith last year.

Show jumping
Matteo Zamana (ITA) rides Captain Conner, bred by Annette Köhlbrandt (Fehmarn). The son of Connor-Acobat II represents the successful line 162 and won a 1.45-metre show jumping class in Arezzo (ITA).

Calvaro by Cascadello I-Quidam de Revel won a 1.50-metre show jumping class at the five-star competition in Wellington with Abdel Saïd (BEL) in the saddle. The nine-year-old comes from line 7673 and was bred by Reimer Detlef Hennings (Bendorf).
