Many competitions are once again being cancelled due to the high number of COVID-19 cases and the resulting measures and restrictions; nevertheless, a number of international events are still going ahead, with Holsteiners from all over the world securing placings.
In Exloo, the Netherlands, Felix Hassmann (GER) was once again able to rely on his Cayenne WZ by Claudio-Ramirado (Aldelbert Sporn, Jardelundfeld), line 318D1. The former German championship pair remained clear in a 1.45-metre two-round show jumping class and took second place. Also in this class, Charlie by Casall-Corofino I (Timm Peters, Bargenstedt), line 6786, took seventh place with Mans Thijssen (NED).
At this competition, the Cellestial-Quantum son Cristo (Christian Schröder, Elmenhorst), line 4151, also won a 1.40-metre jumping class with Conor Drain (IRL). The 24-year-old Philipp Schulze Topphoff, who only recently celebrated his first World Cup victory in La Coruña (ESP), rode Toxic Boy by Toulon-Calido I (Miriam Thormählen, Großenkneten), line 3615, to fifth place.
Chill Ma by Crunch-Alcatraz (Rasmus Lüneburg, Hetlingen), line 8763, has new owners. The mare enjoyed success up to 1.45 metres under Rasmus and Nisse Lüneburg; her dam, Leica, was herself placed up to S*** level and at the Hamburg Show Jumping Derby; and she recently moved to the stables of the Canadian rider Erynn Ballard. She has now completed a training round over 1.30 metres in Wellington (USA) and finished second. With Quantico by Quidam de Revel–Cassini I (Avora Pferde GmbH, Welmbüttel), line 2004, she has another promising Holsteiner in her care, with whom she finished third. Chewbacca HCC by Clarimo-Quintero (Hans-Christian Christiansen, Goldelund), line 8765, rode to victory in a 1.40-metre class with Jimmy Torano (USA) in the saddle.
