This week, Holsteiners have achieved top placings in show jumping and dressage competitions at the very highest level:
A son of Casall shone in Wellington (USA). Casall (MV. Capitol I), named after his famous sire, won a 1.55-metre show jumping class with Ali Wolf (USA). He represents line 754 and was bred by Manfred Birchler (SUI). His dam, F-Cecilia BB, was herself successful in advanced show jumping (1.40 metres).
In Lier, Belgium, Zaccorado Blue by Zirocco Blue–Acorado I (Tanja Schramm, Ilmenau), line 1298, and David Will took fourth place in a 1.45-metre class. Before the bay moved into Will’s care, he had already enjoyed international success with Max Kühner (AUT) and Will’s business partner Richard Vogel (GER).
Gregory Wathelet (BEL) has a talented son of Sandro Boy under his saddle: Sandero (MV. Cassini I) stood out even as a foal and was awarded a premium in Holstein. This representative of line 2481 was bred by Nybor Pferde GmbH, Borken. He has now taken second place in a 1.45-metre show jumping class in Vejer de la Frontera (ESP). Also placing at this show were Chepettano by Chepetto-Calido I (Christiane Tropschug, Bokel), line 1020, and Maksymilian Wechta (POL), who came third in a 1.50-metre class. Enigma K by Cellestial-Alasca (Tanja Konopka, Langwedel), line 730B, and Sameh el Dahan (EGY) came sixth.
Dressage
Despite the cancellation of the VR Classics in Neumünster, a number of top-class dressage classes, including the World Cup leg, were held at the Holstenhallen. Once again, Annabelle by Conteur-Linaro (line 776), bred by Günther Fielmann (Schierensee), led the way in showcasing the Holsteiner’s agility. Riden by Helen Langehanenberg, she finished sixth in the Grand Prix with a score of over 76 per cent. “Mausi really delivered,” said the proud rider. The mare even received a mark of 10 for the first time in a test at this level, specifically for the passage-piaffe-passage transition on the finish line. Antonia Ramel (SWE) and Curiosity by Clinsmann-Carpaccio (Kurt Thomsen, Bunsoh), line 5964, finished tenth in the Grand Prix and eighth in the freestyle.
Zhaviero by Zhivago-Aljano (ZG Ellerbrock, Kayhude), line 990, and Christina Ellendt also took seventh place in the Intermédiaire I.
