Holsteiner Results: Second place for Conner JEI in the 1.60-metre Grand Prix ...

Conner JEI, a son of Connor, took second place in the 1.60-metre show jumping competition with a jump-off in Doha (QAT), ridden by the Swiss rider Martin Fuchs. The dark bay (by MV. Cosimo) was born at Gerhard Stamer’s stud in Duvensee and belongs to bloodline 8778. The pair had already enjoyed success at the highest level last year, placing at the five-star events in London and Geneva, amongst others. In Dinard (FRA) in 2021, they won the Rolex Grand Prix, a competition with a prize fund of 500,000 euros. “I believe he is an exceptional horse with a great future,” said Fuchs at the time, whose faith in this Holsteiner was once again rewarded in Doha.

Jur Vrieling and Long John Silver have now added another placing over 1.60 metres to their list of achievements. The son of Lasino-Corrado I (Peter Burmeister), line 2896, and the Dutch rider finished sixth in Doha.

In Mexico, two Holsteiners were successful in the 1.55-metre class: firstly, Quinley by Quintero-Calato (Anke Siewertsen, Föhr), who secured second place with Jose Alberto Martinez Vazquez (MEX). The other was Beautiful Red by Casall-Colman (Axel Gast, Zarrentin), line 1228, ridden by Salvador Oñate (MEX), who finished sixth.

In Vejer de la Frontera (ESP), the Contender-Coronado I daughter D-Coroquada (Manfred Tummes, Mühlheim), line 4539, took second place over 1.45 metres. Karin Ernsting was in the saddle on the mare, who had previously enjoyed success under Torben Köhlbrandt. Wicked Enigma by Cellestial-Alasca (line 730B) was born at Tanja Konopka’s stud in Langwedel and was ridden by Sameh al Dahan (EGY) to a bronze medal in a 1.50-metre show jumping class.

Rolf-Göran Bengtsson competed with the association’s stallions Catch and Zuccero in Peelbergen/Kronenberg (NED): Zuccero by Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), line 4539, finished third in a 1.45-metre competition with a jump-off. His stablemate Catch by Colman-Calido I (Hans-Peter Löding-Hasenkamp, Quarnstedt), line 890, came seventh in a 1.40-metre show jumping class.

Victories over 1.40 metres were also secured by Casallino by Casall-Loran (Harm Thormählen, Kollmar), line 2151, ridden by Pius Schwizer (SUI) in Vidauban (FRA), Diamante by Diamant de Semilly-Cassini I (Kai Gerken, Lasbek), line 7126, and Ariana Muff (SUI) in Gorla Minore (ITA), as well as Feedback by Stakkato-Caretino (Johann Peter Laß, Leck), line 730B, and Charlise Casas (USA) in Wellington (USA).
