He had a true Derby specialist by his side: Simon Heineke from Moorhof in Wedel secured fifth place in the legendary German Jumping Derby in Hamburg Klein-Flottbek with Cordillo by Corrido-Candillo (Erik Schöning, Sipsdorf), damline 3488. The combination had already finished sixth in the class the previous year, after Cordillo had won the jumping Derby in 2019 with Nisse Lüneburg.
In the five-star tour, the Zirocco Blue-Acorado I son Zaccorado Blue (Tanja Schramm, Ilmenau), damline 1298, and David Will won a 1.50 m jumping class. "We have had Zaccorado in the stable for a very long time, he is our rosette pony," says David Will. "He is extremely versatile, very careful, has a huge canter stride, and consistently collects placings." Finishing in sixth place were Singu by Singulord Joter-Parco xx (Dr. Hansjörg Andresen, Simonsberg), damline 13A, and Hans-Thorben Rüder. Lyjanair by Lyjanero-Coriano (Wendy Davis Gerrish/USA), damline 474A, and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson placed seventh.
In another 1.50 m class, Lord Caloubet by Lord-Colman (Sven Völz, Bienenbüttel), damline 242, and Jan Grochowski claimed fourth place. The Quirado-Concept son Quirex (ZG Nina and Sonja Ellerbrock, Kayhude), damline 2067, and Nina Piasecki finished fifth in this class.
A Holsteiner also led the victory lap in the Speed Derby: Lordillo S by Lordanos-Candillo (Uwe Scheel, Ganderkesee), damline 2978. Marieke Reimers was in the saddle of the bay gelding. The pair left the runners-up nearly seven seconds behind.
Eventing
In the long four-star class in Marbach, a Holsteiner jumped to second place: Casino by Casillas-Claudio (Behrend Jacobs, Ostenfeld), damline 1020, with Dirk Schrade in the saddle. Dirk Schrade's performance in the CCI4*-L was additionally rewarded – with victory in the Professional Riders' Eventing Championship.
