Whether in Neumünster, Abu Dhabi or Hong Kong: this weekend, too, Holsteiners and their riders once again celebrated a number of international successes across the globe.
They were one of only two pairs to complete the class with two clear rounds, and at the same time were just under six seconds faster than the runners-up: At the Longines Five-Star Competition in Abu Dhabi (UAE), Zuccero HV by Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), line 4539, and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson celebrated a victory over 1.60 metres.
Cloudio by Casall-Cassini I and Richard Vogel return from the CSI5* in Hong Kong with a win in the 1.55-metre show jumping and third place in the 1.60-metre Grand Prix. The grey was bred by Heike Arendt from Sollwitt and belongs to line 5889. Clariquada T by Clarimo-Coronado I (Manfred Tummes, Mühlheim), line 4539, took fourth place here with Yuri Mansur (BRA). She is none other than the half-sister of Hans-Dieter Dreher’s successful horse Elysium by Zirocco Blue.
With Philipp Schulze-Topphoff in the saddle, Corny M by Connor-Cambridge jumped to victory on Friday evening in the 1.50-metre World Ranking Show Jumping at the VR Classics in Neumünster. Jessica Morgenroth from Krummesse is responsible for breeding Corny M, who represents line 4025. He is the half-brother of Cornwall BH, who is competing successfully internationally up to 1.65 metres (Amanda Derbyshire/Shane Sweetnam). In this class, Heidi von Imhoff by Christian-Chepetto (Jan Gottfried Böning, Langwedel), line 3558, also finished fourth with Denis Nielsen (GER). Carlesta by Casall-Corrado I (Joachim Jürgens, Bollbrügge), line 42B, and Mathies Rüder (GER) came fifth.
The best Holsteiner in the Neumünster Grand Prix was Carlito H ridden by Robin Naeve from Bovenau: the gelding by Comme il faut-Acorado I (Wolfgang Harjes, Einbeck) took second place with two flawless rounds. Cool Fox by Colman-Singulord Joter (Jens Ritters, Krumstedt), line 730B, and the young rider Linn Hamann also took fifth place.
