He had already enjoyed great success at the National Championships – back then under the saddle of Richard Vogel – and is continuing his career at the highest level with Sophie Hinners: Munin by Mylord Carthago-Chin Chin (Michael Eitel, Freihung) won two classes in Kronenberg (NED) with his rider: the grey took top honours in two 1.45-metre show jumping classes.
For some time now, Harry Charles (GBR) has been riding Kannandillo by Kannan-Candillo (Nicole Hanneken, Rhede). The former competitor at the World Championships for Young Show Jumpers under Angelos Touloupis (GRE) has now achieved placings up to the 1.50-metre level and recently finished sixth in the 1.45-metre show jumping class at Le Touquet (FRA).
A top placing over 1.55 metres in Hungary: Angelos Touloupis and the Larimar-Coriano son Lord Mexx (Hans Bock, Quickborn), line 1811, once again secured a high placing here.
Li La Bo by Uriko-Casall, bred by Lothar Steuer (Pansdorf), line 318D2, and Elia Simonetti have recently racked up a string of placings in prestigious show jumping competitions. For example, they won a 1.50-metre show jumping class at the Festhalle in Frankfurt. Now they have finished fifth in a 1.50-metre class in Italy.
Eventing
Over the weekend, the eventing community’s attention was focused primarily on the Badminton Horse Trials in Great Britain. This five-star classic is one of the absolute highlights of the year for eventing fans right at the start of the season. The best result from a Holsteiner perspective was achieved here by Cola by Catoki-Contender (Peter Böge, Schönhorst), line 628B, and Bobby Upton, who finished eighth. The gelding had already placed eighth here in 2023, and last year he finished tenth. In ninth place came JL Dublin by Diarado-Canto (Volker Göttsche-Götze, Groß Buchwald), line 1907, ridden by Tom McEwen (GBR). Tenth place was also taken by a Holsteiner, namely Vitali by Contender-Heraldik xx (Günther Fielmann, Schierensee), line 3317, ridden by Tim Price (GBR).
