The WBFSH rankings have only just been published – and Holstein has fought its way up to the silver position – when Holsteiner horses immediately continue to prove their quality in the highest-prizemoney classes:
Corsica X by Connor-Corofino II (Erich Westphal, Stipsdorf), stem 4564, and Rene Dittmer (GER) have won the Highlands Cup Grand Prix of a CSI5* in Amenia, USA. Twelve pairs had qualified for the jump-off after clear initial rounds, but the 32-year-old from Stade and the twelve-year-old mare turned in the fastest round. Corsica X, a former Holsteiner regional champion, thus added over 112,000 US dollars in prize money to her lifetime earnings.
And once again the winner was Monaco: Following Valkenswaard and Cannes, this successful combination now secured their third Global Champions Tour Grand Prix victory of the year: Monaco by Cassini II-Contender (Ralf Lütje, Haseldorf), stem 429, and Harrie Smolders triumphed at the leg in Rome. These two also collected substantial prize money, for the third time amounting to over 110,000 euros.
Hans Brinkop from Neumünster is the breeder responsible for Barclino B by Barcley-Lasino (stem 4564). With Skylar Wireman (USA) in the saddle, he has now won a 1.50-metre class in Amenia. Barclino B already won advanced-level classes in Bridgehampton (USA) and Chantilly (FRA) this year.
