A former Holsteiner auction horse is once again attracting attention with his successes. JL Dublin, a son of Diarado out of a Canto dam (Volker Götsche-Götze, Groß Buchwald), Line 1907, has for years been one of the most consistent performers at the very highest level in international eventing: Ridden by Nicola Wilson (GBR), he was, amongst other achievements, double European Champion in Avenches (SUI) in 2021. Now, the dark bay and Tom McEwen (GBR) have taken silver in the CCI5* in Lexington, Kentucky. The pair added just a few penalty points to their dressage score for exceeding the time limit in the demanding cross-country.
Bing Bong by Cyrkon xx-Carlos D Z (Frank Bade, Braderup), line 1947, and Samantha Lissington (NZL) won a four-star event in Ballingdenisk (IRL). And in Sopot, Poland, Holsteiners also topped the podium: Foxfire by Favoritas xx–Clinton I (Sport A Media SRO, Lucia), line 1947, and Mia Hastrup from Denmark won the CCI3*-S. Lucinda ex Ani by Lumbus-Chello I (Holger Wittmaack, Langenhorn), line 18A2, and Pawel Warszawski (POL) secured gold in the CCI4*-S.
Charlotte by Casall-Carry (Ralf Steffen, Albersdorf), line 1614, also began her career as a Holsteiner auction horse. The mare is currently competing at 1.55-metre level under Jules Orsolini and won the Nations Cup over 1.45 metres for the French team in Gorla Minore (ITA). The German team, which also included the former Holsteiner auction foal Coolio by Casalito-Quidam de Revel (Martina Wirtz, Wulkenzin), line 2067, and Marcel Marschall, finished in fourth place. Scuderia 1918’s Calle Deluxe by Cesano II–Con Air (Karl Ernst Kruse-Sönke, Kollmar), line 18B1, and Giulia Martinengo Marquet secured sixth place for Italy. The gelding also won a 1.50-metre show jumping class.
Belgian Olympic rider Jérôme Guéry has, alongside Quel Homme de Hus by Quidam de Revel and Uniquo by Uriko, had another promising Holsteiner horse for show jumping at the highest level in his stable since 2023: Cristel. Riding the mare by Diamant de Semilly-Cento (Ronald Nowee, NED), line 18A2, he won two 1.50-metre show jumping classes in Nancy (FRA) this weekend.
