There was plenty going on at the world’s major show jumping venues last weekend. At the Longines Grand Prix of Switzerland in St. Gallen, Marcus Ehning and Coolio by Casalito-Quidam de Revel (Martina Wirtz, Wulkenzin), line 2067, secured victory and with it a prize of 150,000 euros. “Anyone who saw him today will have realised what a sight for sore eyes Coolio is. I hope he’ll be a strong contender for the World Championships in Aachen,” revealed Marcus Ehning in an interview following his victory. Several Holsteiners also secured placings in the Nations Cup in St. Gallen. The Austrian team, which finished second, included Cossinelle by Cascadello I-Quebec (Jan Carstens, Steenfeld), line 1336, and Felix Koller. Catelly by Catalido–Ephebe Forever (Wulf Hinrich Hamann, Ammersbek), line 242, and Ben Maher took third place with the British team. And Carissimo by Cascadello I–Clinton I (Sport A Media, SLO), line 2666, and Aaron Vale took fourth place with the American team.
At the German Championships in Balve, Marco Kutscher and Cool Fox by Colman-Singulord Joter (Jens Ritters, Krumstedt), line 730B, won the silver medal. The pair remained clear throughout all rounds. It was only in the decisive jump-off that they were defeated. Rider Britt Roth and Jeffrey by Comme il faut–Cachas (Philipp Freier, Landau), line 318D2, also took silver to round off the German Championships in the Sauerland.
Eventing
In Bromont, Canada, Denim by Dinken-Ibisco xx (Martin Bachmann, Switzerland), line 49, and Philipp Dutton (USA) took to the course. The former Holsteiner auction horse claimed victory in the CCI4*-S.
