Conner JEI and Martin Fuchs had a victory to celebrate in Doha (QAT): After finishing second last weekend, Conner JEI by Connor-Cosimo (Gerhard Stamer, Duvensee), line 8778, and Martin Fuchs (SUI) proved unbeatable over 1.55 metres.
Third place in the Longines Global Champions Tour leg in Doha also went to Long John Silver and Jur Vrieling. The son of Lasino-Corrado I, bred by Peter Burmeister (line 2896) and his rider followed up their clear round in the 1.60-metre jump with a flawless and, above all, fast round in the jump-off, and were rewarded with the bronze medal.
In Ebreichsdorf, Austria, Baloubet by Etl by Baloubet du Rouet–Acord II (Franz Etl, Tadten), line 776, and Markus Saurugg (AUT) emerged as the winners of the 1.45-metre show jumping competition. The stallion, licensed in Austria, has established himself as a reliable partner for Saurugg; together, they achieved international placings last year in Bábolna (HUN) and Salzburg (AUT), for example.
Prescott is a son of Lordanos-Carvallo BB (S.C. Sofina, St. Vith/Recht/BEL), line 1446, and, with Augustin Rosales (ARG) in the saddle, won a 1.45-metre show jumping class in Ocala (USA). His dam is Ratina III (Eduard Struve, Satrup), a State Premium mare, who, when bred to Cassini I, produced, for example, the 1.65-metre-class winner Bambina (Harry Charles/GBR).
Dressage
There was a Holsteiner one-two in the S*** dressage class in Brunshausen, Lower Saxony: Don Calypso by Donnerhall-Calypso I (Sönke Eggers, Struvenhütten), line 223B, danced his way to the top of the field with Anna Metzler in the saddle. This pair was followed in second place by Quintessenz BS by Quadros-Contendro I (Karsten Butenschön, Sarzbüttel), line 1223, ridden by Anna-Lisa Wehr.
