Teike Carstensen from Sollwitt celebrated what is arguably the greatest success of her career to date with Greece, a daughter of Mylord Carthago and Quinar, in the Grand Prix at the four-star show in Hohen Wieschendorf: The 24-year-old won the 1.60-metre show jumping class with the grey mare from the family’s own stud (line 3401). “The best thing was that almost the whole family was there, including Grandad – that was brilliant,” summarised the beaming winner. Greece is also a true family project; she is by the State Premium mare Online IX by Quinar – who, with 35 stars, is currently the most successful broodmare registered with the Holsteiner Verband. Greece herself was once Reserve National Champion and was trained by Teike Carstensen, who introduced her to challenging tasks.
Fourth place in this show jumping class went to Catelly by Catalido-Ephebe For Ever (Wulf Hinrich Hamann, Ammersbek), line 242, and Linn Hamann (GER).
C-Jay by Carthago-Contender (Hobe Bernhard, Kollmar), line 318D2, and Johannes Ehning (GER) won a 1.45-metre class at Enno Glantz’s new equestrian centre in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Uriga VA by Uriko-Clarimo (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld), line 8805, and Diarmuid Howley (IRL) secured third place.
Gru by Carentan-Claudio (ZG Sellier, Viöl), line 2151, and Emmy Pauline Kröger (GER) also claimed victory in a difficult show jumping class. Chequinta by Cassini II-Quintero (Udo Wiedenbach, Öhningen), line 2543, and Silke Kröckel (GER) finished fourth.
Darc de Lux by Darco-Contender (Morten Augustin/DEN) and Andreas Schou (DEN) took silver in the Madrid Grand Prix. The pair had recently once again attracted attention with their fantastic performances at the World Cup Final in Omaha, where they finished fifth overall. The bronze medal in Madrid went to Long John Silver by Lasino-Corrado I (Peter Burmeister, Wangels), line 2896, and Jur Vrieling (NED).
At the CSI5* in Windsor (GBR), Clarity by Clarimo-Ephebe For Ever (Christian Jörgensen/DEN), line 730B, and Gregory Wathelet (BEL) took the lead in the 1.50-metre Grand Prix.
