In the Nations Cup Final in Barcelona (ESP), two Holsteiners played a decisive role in Belgium’s victory: these were Quel Homme de Hus by Quidam de Revel-Candillo (Dr Andreas Kosicki, Berlin), line 4847, ridden by Jérôme Guéry, and Calleryama by Casall-Contender (Jutta Struve, Satrup), line 6879, ridden by Gilles Thomas. The two pairs produced three clear rounds for their team. With this victory, they not only secured around 417,000 euros in prize money, but also secured Belgium’s place at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. “Once again, he was magical,” said a beaming Jérôme Guéry of his successful horse, Quel Homme de Hus.
Third place went to the Swiss team, whose result included Quno by Quo Vados–Cash and Carry (Witt Pferdezucht GbR, Wellinghusen), line 776, ridden by Edouard Schmitz, and Conner Jei by Connor-Cosimo (Gerhard Stamer, Duvensee), line 8778, ridden by Martin Fuchs.
And further Holsteiners achieved excellent placings in Barcelona: Long John Silver by Lasino-Corrado I (Peter Burmeister), line 2896, ridden by Jur Vrieling, and Monaco by Cassini II-Contender (Ralf Lütje, Haseldorf), line 429, were part of the fourth-placed team from the Netherlands. The Great Britain team finished fifth with Equine America Cacharel by Cachas-Quinar (Helmut Bohm, Haselund), line 5951, and Joseph Stockdale. Germany came seventh, with Limbridge by Limbus-Cambridge (Ralf Pawlowski, Heidenheim), line 741, and Jana Wargers taking part.
