In Oliva Nova, Spain, Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann and her team competed in competitions for several weeks and have now successfully concluded the autumn series. The grey mare Cornela by Cornet Obolensky-Caretino (line 4847), bred by the family, took third place in a 1.45-metre World Ranking show jumping class. Riding Can Hope by Cascadello I-Lord (Reimer Detlef Hennings, Bendorf), line 425, she finished sixth in the 1.50-metre course.
In Warsaw, Poland, Cellato by Cellestial-Calato (Jörn Kusel, Visselhövede), line 318D2, took third place in the 1.50-metre show jumping class at the World Cup competition. Michael Kölz was in the saddle. Diarmuid Howley also competed in this class with Chopin VA by Casall-Coriano (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld), line 5064. Riding the former Olympic horse of Mathilda Karlsson, he finished in sixth place.
The Holstein Association stallion Crack HV by Cornet Obolensky-Candillo (Campos Cria de Caballos de Deporte), line 1020, and Richard Vogel performed well this weekend in Stuttgart: They won a 1.45-metre two-phase show jumping class and came fourth over 1.50 metres. And other Holsteiners also shone, particularly in the two-phase course: These were Canmore by Casall out of Contender (Birgit Becker, Metelen), line 18A2, and Markus Renzel in third place; Con Quality by Chin Champ out of Quality (Hartmut Knop, Müden), line 1298, and Adrian Schmid in sixth place; Greece by Mylord Carthago–Quinar (Margit Petersen), line 3401, and Teike Carstensen in eighth place. Claus by Casalito–Cosido (Fedder Feddersen, Olderup), line 890, and Tim Hoster in ninth place; and Cous Cous by Cachas-Lasino (Norbert Schmalbach, Mollhagen), line 18B1, with Hans-Dieter Dreher in tenth place.
Scuderia 1918 Calle Deluxe has been a reliable partner in success for Giulia Martinengo Marquet for years. The gelding by Cesano II-Con Air (Karl-Ernst Kruse-Sönke, Kollmar), line 18B1, has been racking up successes at the very highest level, having achieved top placings this year in Dublin and Falsterbo, amongst other places. This weekend, he finished second in Stuttgart over 1.55 metres.
Whilst her partner Richard Vogel enjoyed success in Stuttgart, Sophie Hinners represented her team ‘VW Equestrian’ in Lier, Belgium. Riding Viva las Vegas W by Vagabond de la Pomme-Cancara (Matthias Wittke, Marienheide), line 318D2, she took silver over 1.45 metres – this was the eight-year-old’s first appearance in an international ranking show jumping competition.
