Holsteiner Results: Successes in Riesenbeck and Lillestrøm

There is certainly no sign of a quiet run-up to Christmas on the international show jumping circuit. Holsteiner horses from all over the world once again secured placings in challenging courses.

The winner of a difficult show jumping competition in Lillestrøm, Sweden, was Comthago VDL. With Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) in the saddle, the son of Comme il faut-Carthago (Wilhelm Kochs, Eschweiler), line 3697, secured victory. Third place went to Mylord Myles by Mylord Carthago-Corofino II (Martina Ecke, Bad Doberan), line 597, ridden by Johan-Sebastian Gulliksen (NOR). Douglas Lindelöw (SWE) rode Conrad van de Mispelaere by Connor-Acord II (Corda Petersen, Averlak), line 318A2, to sixth place in the class.

Lars Bak Andersen (DEN) also competed at this Swedish show: riding Ethene by Corrado I-Cayado (Ferdinand Rutjes), line 776, he finished third in a 1.55-metre class.

Two horses with Holsteiner pedigrees dominated the 1.40- and 1.45-metre classes in Riesenbeck: Singu by Singulord Joter-Parco xx (Dr Hansjörg Andresen, Simonsberg), line 13A, and Hans Thorben Rüder (GER) were awarded the gold ribbon in the 1.40-metre class. And at 1.45 metres, the Clarimo-Coriano daughter Caja (Reinhold Distel, Wechtersbach) and Jens Baackmann took the honours.

Chill Ma was born at Rasmus Lüneburg’s stud in Hetlingen. The Crunch-Alcatraz mare from line 8763 has enjoyed numerous successes up to 1.45-metre level and, this weekend, took second place in such a show jumping class with her rider Ashlee Bond, competing for Israel.

Calson, by Casall and Clarimo, comes from the Herrmann Horstmann stud (Jerrishoe), line 2269. James Smith (GBR) won a 1.40-metre competition in Oliva (ESP).
