The new year is barely a week old and, naturally, Holsteiner horses from all over the world are already back to performing successfully at international competitions.
The eight-year-old Brantzau son Bert (dam sire Casquetto), line 318A2, comes from the breeding establishment of Jens Ritters from Krumstedt. Tomma Thiesen sat in his saddle last weekend in Neustadt/Dosse – the pair won a 1.40-metre show jumping class. Another Holsteiner also placed second: Witt Pferdezucht GbR is responsible for the breeding of Cajero (GER). Cajero is a Casall-Quo Vados I offspring (line 776) and is trained and ridden by Rene Dittmer (GER). Cajero is a half-brother of the licensed stallion Cardentos by Cardento.
European Champion Richard Vogel is in the saddle of Diamant de Casall: he is a son of Diamant de Semilly out of a Caretino-Lavall I dam. As his name already suggests, the Lavall I mare is Casall's dam Kira. Manfred von Allwörden bred the stallion, who won a heavy show jumping class in Basel.
The Cascadello I-Quidam de Revel son Calvaro and Abdel Said took second place in a 1.50-metre show jumping class in Doha (QAT). The nine-year-old represents line 7673 and was bred by Reimer Detlef Hennings (Bendorf). They were followed in third place by Iron Dames High Level by Livello-King Milford xx (Jens Hauschildt, Seester), line 95, and Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann. Mastermind RL was already successful in Doha last year. Now the son of Mylord Carthago-Acatraz out of the Lüneburg family's successful mare Leica – line 8763 – placed sixth in the 1.50-metre show jumping class with Torben Köhlbrandt (GER).
