With a series of flawless performances, the former Holsteiner auction horse Donata Regina, ridden by Philipp Schulze, secured an outstanding ninth place at the World Championships for five-year-old show jumpers in Lanaken (BEL). The mare, by Diamant de Semilly out of Cornet Obolensky (Günther Fielmann, Schierensee), line 3317, has done everything right this season: She had already finished second at the State Championships in Elmshorn and fourth at the National Championships in Warendorf.
In the Netherlands, in Deurne, Mastermind RL by Mylord Carthago out of Alcatraz (Rasmus Lüneburg, Hetlingen), line 8763, took silver in a 1.45-metre show jumping class with Torben Köhlbrandt in the saddle. Also competing here was the association-owned stallion Zuccero HV by Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), line 4539, ridden by Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE); they finished fifth.
The Danish rider Rikke Belinda Barker rides Pico HCC (Hans Christian Christiansen, Goldelund). This son of Clarimo by Quintero belongs to line 8765 and won a 1.45-metre show jumping class in Tetouan (MAR). Among other achievements this year, Pico HCC has already emerged victorious at the show in Doha (QAT). His dam, Wanda, has produced two further sons – Chewbacca HCC and Cloud – who have both been successful up to 1.60 metres, alongside Pico HCC; both are by Clarimo.
In the 1.60-metre show jumping competition in Traverse City (USA), no fewer than three Holsteiners made it into the top ten: Casturano by Castelan I-Canturo (Reimer Detlef Hennings, Bendorf), line 318D1, and Conor Swail (IRL) took second place. Casturano had previously won a 1.50-metre show jumping competition. The former Holsteiner auction horse Callas by Casall-Coriano (Jürgen Böge, Bunshoh), line 7492, and McLain Ward (USA) finished sixth. Bull Run’s Jireh by Uriko-Colman (line 890), bred by Timm Peters (Bargenstedt) and ridden by Kristen Vanderveen (USA), came ninth.
