At the German Championships in Balve, Holstein horses and their riders achieved outstanding results:
In the championship, Elalisa by Colman-Con Air (Bärbel Leffers, Holzdorf), line 890, took fifth place. Christoph Brüse was in the saddle of the eleven-year-old. Corsica by Connor-Corofino II (Erich Westphal, Stipsdorf), line 4564, and Rene Dittmer took sixth place.
With Tokyo, a daughter of Toulon out of a Cassini I dam (Jürgen Böge, Bunsoh), line 7492, Hannes Ahlmann celebrated another significant success: Having already won, amongst other things, this year’s World Ranking Show Jumping event in Neustadt/Dosse and competed for Germany in a Nations Cup, the pair went on to win twice in Balve: namely, both the qualifier and the final qualifier for the U25 Show Jumping Cup. He also took silver in the qualifier with his second horse: Coquetto by Cornet Obolensky-Casquetto (Witt Pferdezucht GbR, Wellinghusen), line 2067.
In the Grand Tour, C-Jay by Carthago-Contender (Hobe Bernhard, Kollmar), line 318D2, won a 1.45-metre class with Johannes Ehning. The grey had already left the arena as the winner at this venue last year.
Richard Vogel also secured two victories with an Uriko son at the Balve Optimum: riding Uriel by Uriko out of Centurion (Jan Kai Hansen, Wiemerstedt), line 7299, he went on to win the Youngster Tour final following a qualifying round. And this was the six-year-old’s first international competition. Second place went to Danford by Diamant de Semilly-Cassiano (Joachim Schiedel), line 8224, ridden by Lennert Hauschild.
In La Baule (FRA), Coolio by Casalito–Quidam de Revel (Martina Wirtz, Hohenzieritz), line 2067, and Marcus Ehning were part of the victorious German team in the Nations Cup. Third place went to the Belgian team with Quel Homme de Hus by Quidam de Revel–Candillo (Dr Andreas Kosicki, Berlin), line 4847, and Jérôme Guéry.
