Holsteiner Results: Elysium finishes third in the Leipzig World Cup

For a while, it looked as though Elysium by Zirocco Blue-Coronado I (Manfred Tummes, Mühlheim), line 4539, and Hans-Dieter Dreher were set to claim victory at the World Cup event in Leipzig. But in the end, the grey horse and his rider had to settle for third place in the 1.60-metre show jumping class.

Nevertheless, Hans-Dieter Dreher was over the moon with the performance; Elysium had been out of action for a long time last year and was now making his comeback in Leipzig. “I don’t think he’s ever ridden such a fast jump-off before; I’m proud of him,” said Dreher following what he considered to be a technically challenging course.

Conner JEI and Martin Fuchs were also successful once again: the son of Connor Cosimo (Gerhard Stamer, Duvensee), line 8778, and his Swiss rider secured fifth place with a clear round in the jump-off. Coolio by Casalito-Quidam de Revel (Martina Wirtz, Hohenzieritz) and Marcus Ehning had one knockdown in the jump-off after a clear round and finished in tenth place.

Three eight-year-olds represented Holstein very successfully in the Youngster Tour over 1.45 metres: Second place went to Kasanga VA by Diamant de Semilly-Casall (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld), line 2067, and Teike Friedrichsen (GER). This pair was followed by Davis by Diarado-Casall (Timm Peters), line 390, and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE) in third place. Fourth place was also taken by a Holsteiner, namely the Million Dollar-Lasino daughter Milva RB (ZG Bröcking, Borken), line 2554, ridden by Sandra Auffarth (GER).
