In Vilamoura, Portugal, there was a Holsteiner one-two in the 1.50-metre class: Cheppetta by Chepetto-Cash (Silke Zuba, Wesselburen), line 18A2, and Kevin Staut (FRA) left the competition trailing behind them with two lightning-fast and clear rounds. And the silver medal was also won by a Holsteiner: Darc de Lux by Darco-Contender (Morten Augustin, Bogense/DEN), line 1094. Andreas Schou (DEN) was in the saddle of the bay horse.
The Grand Prix in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain, was won by a pair that has been on the road to success for years: Con Quidam by Quinar-Cardino (ZG Bröcking, Borken), line 1446, and Sanne Thijssen (NED) have already won medals at European Junior Championships and have gradually established themselves at the very top of international show jumping. Last year, their achievements included winning the Grand Prix at the CHIO Rotterdam and the Nations Cup Final with the Dutch team in Barcelona.
Classic Touch DH has proved to be a truly reliable horse for Thibeau Spits (BEL): the daughter of Casall-Corrado I (Johann Peter Laß, Leck), line 162, enjoyed numerous victories and placings at 1.55-metre level in 2021. Now she has impressed once again in Lier (BEL), winning over 1.45 metres.
In Riesenbeck, Caracas by Casall-Cassini I (Jürgen Böge, Bunsoh), line 844, and Hannes Ahlmann (GER) won the final of the Intermediate Tour over 1.40 metres. The pair had already claimed victory in a Grand Prix (1.50 metres) at the three-star show in Poznan, Poland, at the end of last year.
In a 1.50-metre class in Vejer de la Frontera (ESP), three Holsteiners finished in the top ten: Hope Street by Casall-Quick Nick I (Barbara Tenge-Rietberg), line 4847, and Lucas Porter (USA) took third place. Calleryama, another daughter of Casall (MV. Contender, Jutta Struve, Satrup), line 6879, ridden by Thomas Gilles (BEL), finished in fifth place. In addition, Caja by Clarimo-Coriano (Reinholt Diestel, Wächtersbach), ridden by Maximilian Bremicker (GER), took ninth place.
In Florida (Ocala), two Holsteiners secured places on the podium in a 1.40-metre show jumping class: Nike by Lasino-Canto (Klaus-Friedrich Loewer, Senden), line 3030, ridden by Lisa Goldman-Smolen (USA), emerged as the winner of the class. Third place went to Cassio Melloni by Caretino-Cassini I (Dr Hansjörg Andresen, Simonsberg), line 7380, ridden by Kaitlyn Williams (AUS).
Naomi Himmelreich (GER) is a talented young rider: She rode Cordetto (Susanne Labuj, Kolmar), a son of Cormint-Acodetto I, line 317A, to first place in a difficult show jumping class (1.40 metres) in San Giovanni (ITA).
