Holsteiners enjoyed success at competitions in the USA and Belgium this weekend – both on the show jumping course and in the dressage arena.
In Wellington (USA), the former Louisdor Prize finalist Devanto by De Chirico-Lorentin I (Holger Wesselmann, Kellinghusen), Line 49, won a Grand Prix. After the bay had made his mark on the top level of the sport in Germany under Juliane Brunkhorst, he switched to being ridden by Tinne Vilhelmson Silfvén (SWE) at the end of 2020. Last year, the pair were victorious in Falsterbo (SWE) in the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle.
Deleyn by Larimar-Cento and Sofia Cady (USA) have won a difficult 1.40-metre show jumping class for young riders in Wellington. The mare was bred by Gerd Ohlsen (Föhr) and belongs to line 18A1. She began her competitive career in Schleswig-Holstein under Antonia-Selina Brinkop, competing in show jumping classes up to advanced level before moving to the USA.
The Clarimo son Chewbacca HCC (MV. Quintero), ridden by Jimmy Torano (USA), also took first place in a 1.40-metre show jumping competition in Wellington. The breeder of the gelding from line 8765 is Hans-Christian Christiansen from Goldelund. The bay is a full brother to Cloud, who enjoyed great success under Mario Deslauriers (CAN) in classes up to 1.60 metres.
In Opglabbeek (BEL), two Holsteiners were placed in the top three in a 1.40-metre show jumping class: Snoes by Clarimo-Cristo (Lüder Meyer, Verden), line 1947, and Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) won the class. In addition, Caillou by Cancara-Loran (Marc-Henrik Horns, Bredenbekshorst), line 4847, and Jerome Schmidt (BEL) took third place.
