Last weekend, the LiftMaster Grand Prix took place in Aiken, South Carolina. In the end, a Holsteiner took top spot on the podium. Namely, Denim by Dinken-Ibisco xx (Martin Bachmann, SUI-Heimberg), Line 49. With Philipp Dutton (USA) in the saddle, the former Holsteiner auction horse, having placed third in the dressage, rode a clear and confident cross-country round to secure victory.
Furthermore, two horses with Holsteiner pedigrees finished in sixth and eighth place. One was Corvett by Corrido-Clearway (Doris Schimmer, Weddingstedt), line 4025, ridden by Emily Hamel (USA), and Chiraz by Cayado-Casall (Jens Ritters, Krumstedt), line 730B, ridden by Ema Klugman (AUS). Chiraz, too, was once a Holsteiner auction candidate.
During the World Cup round in Finland, Chicago by Cascadello I–Corrado I (Dr Konrad Bartjen, Wacken), line 6372, finished eighth in the Helsinki Grand Prix over 1.55 metres. With Irish rider Denis Lynch in the saddle, the ten-year-old remained clear of faults in both the first round and the jump-off of Saturday’s main show jumping event.
United H&B, bred by Hans-Otto Krohn, is currently being introduced to higher-level competitions via the Youngster Tour. The eight-year-old son of Uriko Casall, line 1896, took fourth place over 1.45 metres in Opglabbeek, Belgium, with Frederic Tillmann in the saddle.
