In Opglabbeek (BEL), Sanne Thijssen once again relied on her tried-and-tested horse – and won: Con Quidam RB by Quinar-Cardino (ZG Bröcking, Borken), line 1446, claimed victory in the 1.55-metre Grand Prix. The bay is now 18 years old, but that has done nothing to dampen his will to win. Cristel by Diamant de Semilly-Cento, ridden by Max Sebrechts (BEL), finished fourth. The mare was bred by Ronald Nowee (NED) and belongs to line 18A2; she was previously ridden by Sebrecht’s compatriot and Olympic rider Jérôme Guery. High Level by Livello–King Milford xx (Jens Hauschildt, Seester), line 95, took fifth place with Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann (GER) in her first four-star Grand Prix.
Also in Opglabbeek this weekend, the Livello son Lorenz enjoyed success: with Jens Baackmann (GER) in the saddle, he won a 1.50-metre show jumping class. The gelding, whose maternal grandsire is Clarimo, is bred by ZG Thorsten and Andrea Andresen (Amrum) and belongs to line 1907. At the four-star show in Belgium, he won a class in which only three of the 81 starters made it through to the jump-off, from which the nine-year-old emerged as the winner. Limbridge by Limbus-Cambridge (Ralf Pawlowski, Heidenheim), line 741, and Jana Wargers came fifth.
In the Youngster Tour, it was Viva las Vegas W by Vagabond de la Pomme–Cancara (Matthias Wittke, Marienheide), line 318D2, who claimed victory. The grey mare was ridden by Sophie Hinners (GER).
Hannes Ahlmann also claimed victory once again, this time at the show in Samorin (SVK). He had saddled Tokyo by Toulon-Cassini I (Jürgen Böge, Bunsoh), line 7492, with whom he has already enjoyed significant success this year. Among other achievements, they won stages of the U25 Show Jumping Cup, the Grand Prix in Neustadt/Dosse and secured silver in the U25 German Championships. Now they have also claimed gold in the 1.50-metre course in Samorin.
