Holsteiner Results: Cacharel and Jireh triumph

In November last year, Equine America Cacharel by Cachas-Quinar (Helmut Bohm, Haselund), line 5951, had competed in her last show and had then taken a break from the international circuit for several months. Now, the mare – now 15 years old – made her comeback in March with appearances at competitions in Gorla Minore and Arezzo (ITA), winning the 1.55-metre Grand Prix with her regular rider Joe Stockdale (GBR).

He is undoubtedly one of the most consistent performers at the very highest level, and this week Kristen Vanderveen was once again able to rely on Bull Run’s Jireh by Uriko-Colman (Timm Peters, Bargenstedt), line 890. In Doha (QAT), the pair – who finished second in last year’s WBFSH rankings – triumphed in a 1.60-metre Grand Prix.

Quisandro by Quintero-Gaspari I (Hans Jörgen Juhl, Toftlund/DEN), line 1094, has already won 1.50-metre classes in Doha this year under the saddle of Abdullah Al Sharbatly, and the pair have now secured another top placing at this level with second place.

The Holsteiner Association stallion Charaktervoll HV by Comme il faut-Contendro I (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld), line 474A, and Lucas Wenz finished the Medium Tour final in Peelbergen over 1.45 metres in an excellent fourth place.

Last year, Caja by Cassilano-Aljano (Lorenz Lassen, Waabs), line 1525, and Berit Schulz emerged victorious in the three-star competition in Kristianstad (SWE); in 2026, they were once again in very good form and finished the competition in fifth place.
