The programme for the Saturday of the event featured several highlights. Alongside the state championships for four- and seven-year-old show jumpers, the auction foals made their decisive appearance in the evening.
The four-year-old show jumpers had to tackle a Class A** show jumping class today. And a great many of these young talents performed superbly. Twenty out of 28 qualifiers completed the course without a knockdown; only those who achieved a score of 8.5 or better qualified for the final placings. With a score of 8.8, Cieramo VA by Cieran-Clarimo (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld) and Diarmuid Howley (IRL) ultimately came out on top in this strong field. Hot on their heels were Martini by Million Dollar-Carthago (Sören von Rönne, Neuendeich) and Konstantin Deeken Künnemann (DEN) with 8.7. The bronze medal was awarded twice: once to Daikon VA by Dominator Z-Cassini I (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld) and Edmund Guntz-Malblanc, and once to Mathilda by Del Arko-Corrado (Torsen Gripp, Willenscharen) and Antonia Selina Brinkop. Both horses were awarded a score of 8.6.
The final for the seven-year-old show jumpers was held as an S* show jumping competition with a jump-off. Here, the Crumble-Cassini I daughter Inside of my Heart (Thomas Voss, Schülp) prevailed over the competition. Philipp Battermann rode the grey mare to gold. Silver went to the licensed stallion Coquetto by Cornet Obolensky-Casquetto (Witt Pferdezucht GbR, Wellinghusen) with Hannes Ahlmann in the saddle, ahead of the equally licensed stallion Diamant de Operette VA by Diamant de Semilly-Contender (Manfred von Allwörden), ridden by Mathilda Karlsson (SRI). The championship was overshadowed by a serious fall. Unfortunately, Ulrike Pöhls and Indira fell at the final fence of the jump-off. Whilst Indira was able to leave the course on all four legs, the rider had to be airlifted by rescue helicopter to a hospital in Hamburg. In the evening, news came through that Ulrike Pöhls had been discharged from the intensive care unit. The entire Holsteiner Verband team wishes her a speedy recovery!
