Six three-year-olds and one four-year-old were presented to the Holsteiner Verband’s licensing committee at the Fritz-Thiedemann-Halle. In the end, breeding director Stephan Haarhoff, along with Deike Ahsbahs and Matthias Wittke, granted four stallions the coveted breeding licence.
One of these was the three-year-old Zuccavisto by Zuccero-Conthargos, line 3615, bred and owned by the Thormählen farm in Kollmar. The grey impressed with his excellent quality over jumps.
The dressage-oriented Val d’Isére by Va Bene-Ampere comes from the stud of Thomas Horn (Bredenbekshorst). The bay was presented by Janina Oppl (Erlangen). He represents Holstein line 4847.
Witt Pferdezucht GbR, Wellinghusen, also presented a licensed stallion: Chrispin by Christian-Dinken. The chestnut hails from line 776 and is closely related to Cardentos by Cardento, who achieved his first international successes under Richard Vogel. “A modern son of Christian, long-legged, light and noble,” was how Stephan Haarhoff described the three-year-old.
The journey from the Netherlands also proved worthwhile for Checco Z by Chacco-Blue-Heartbreaker (Joop Buikema, NED-Zweloo). This three-year-old, too, received a positive licensing verdict.
