In Belgian Opglabbeek, the Clinton I-Quintero daughter Cutest Tabou (Klaus Wilhelm Gehrts, Zennhusen-Hemme), stem 2383, won a 1.40-metre class in the Big Tour for juniors under Hannah-Michelle Wilken (GER). Last year, the pair already collected numerous victories and placings in advanced (S) show jumping competitions and successfully participated in the German Youth Championships, among other events. Quantico II by Quirado-Cassini II (Dr Rolf Stecher, Nordhastedt), stem 2657, dominated a 1.40-metre competition and finished victorious in Gorla Minore (ITA) with his Swiss rider in the saddle.
In the Netherlands, the eventing season has started this weekend. At the North Holland Horse Trials in Oudkarspel, several Holsteiner pairs were highly successful in two- and three-star competitions. For example, Dirk Schrade (GER), who had two Holsteiner irons in the fire with Catelan by Catoki-Ciacomo (Hans Witten, Ahrensburg), stem 18A1, and Casino by Casillas-Claudio (Behrend Jacobs, Ostenfeld), stem 1020, taking the silver and bronze positions in the three-star short format. Or Akeby’s Zum Glück by Hunter-Locato (Susanne Hein, Boren), stem 8801, under Joelle Celina Selenkowitsch. They galloped to fifth place in the CCI3*-S. In recent years, the two have already been crowned team European champions and vice-German champions together in the Youngster Tour.
In Radolfzell, team European champion Michael Jung secured second place in the CCI3* on his young prospect FischerWild Wave by Water Dance xx-Acobat II (ZG Marks/Muffels), stem 6879, finishing on his dressage score. The nine-year-old was once sold via the Holsteiner auction as an unlicenced stallion.
