In Opglabbeek (BEL), a well-established, successful team has once again demonstrated its class: Con Quidam by Quinar-Cardino (ZG Bröcking, Borken), line 1446, and Sanne Thijssen (NED) emerged victorious in a 1.45-metre show jumping class. Richard Vogel’s seasoned horse Lesson Peak by Lord Z-Cash and Carry (Matthias Ketelsen, Silberstedt), line 4779, also claimed victory in a 1.40-metre class. In this class, Chaka Chaka by Casall-Contender (Daniel Lehmann, Seengen), line 104A, and Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann (GER) took fourth place, whilst Chardonnay by Cero-Contender (Harm Thormählen), line 3615, and junior rider Johanna Beckmann (GER) came fifth.

In Kronenberg (NED), Caracas and Hannes Ahlmann (GER) took top honours at the prize-giving ceremony for a 1.40-metre show jumping class: The grey mare by Casall-Cassini I was bred by Jürgen Böge from Bunsoh and represents line 844. In Madrid, Spain, Choco – a son of Cartani out of a Con Air dam (Heike Arendt, Sollwitt), line 1155 – triumphed in a 1.40-metre competition.

Horses with Holsteiner pedigrees also enjoyed success in the cross-country. In Arville, Belgium, Qula M by Quadros-Chello I won a CCI2*-S. The mare was bred by Karl-Jochen Maas of Südermarsch and comes from line 4847. In the CCI4*-S at Montelibretti (ITA), Cartania by Cartani-Clinton (Günter Koch, Vollerwiek), line 2895, and Felix Vogg (SUI) took silver.

In the Short Grand Prix at Schenefeld, Lambarene by Lorentin I-Coriander (Dr Klaus Pöhlmann, Owschlag), line 8782, and Markus von Holdt took second place. Von Holdt has been training the dark bay since he was a yearling, presented him in his first riding horse classes – and now the pair have reached the top flight.
