Whilst the battle for Olympic medals was underway in Tokyo, numerous other Holsteiners competed last weekend at events including the CSI*** in Herzlake and the CSI** in Donaueschingen-Immenhöfe, securing many placings.
Janne-Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann was represented by several horses in Herzlake. Riding the licensed stallion Quim by Quiwi Dream-Levisto (Carsten Lauck, Pinneberg), line 6691, for example, the rider finished eighth in a 1.40-metre two-phase show jumping class and placed the Casall Contender son Chaka Chaka (Daniel Lehmann, SUI-Seengen) third in another show jumping class. In the competition’s most demanding competition, a 1.60-metre show jumping class, Calisto by Colman-Quintero (Kirsten Bornholdt, Moorege), line 890, secured ninth place under the New Zealander Richard Gardner. And then, in Herzlake, for example, there was also a show jumping class with obstacles set at a height of 1.50 metres. Here, two Holsteiners made their mark in the placings. Firstly, the Uriko-Cartani daughter Untouched (Doris Schimmer, Weddingstedt), line 4025, of whom her rider Christian Hess says she is a model student. And secondly, Quintair by Quintero-Con Air (Tortsen Gripp), line 8803, previously successful under Katharina Offel, with Abdurakhmon Abdullaev (UZB) in the saddle.
In the Donaueschingen-Immenhöfe Grand Prix, second place went to a horse bred in Holstein. We are talking about Cloudless by Clarimo-Acobat II (Stephan Johannsen, Hörup), line 318D2, ridden by Patrick Stühlmeyer. Fourth, fifth and tenth places in this Grand Prix also went to horses from the Land between the Seas. Namely, Nexus by Nekton–Calando I (Dieter Pingel, Altenmoor), line 2428, ridden by Maximilian Weishaupt; Camelot by Casall–Calato (Karen Rahlff, Hinrichsdorf), line 2078, and Mathias Norheden Johansen (DEN) on Lesson Peak by Lord Z-Cash an Carry (Matthias Ketelsen, Silberstedt), line 4779, and Sophie Hinners. In the Immenhöfe Youngster Tour, Crack by Cornet Obolensky-Candillo (Campos de Cria, Spain) and Richard Vogel also made their first joint appearance in Germany and attracted attention with two clear rounds and a placings finish.
