In Wellington (USA), two horses with Holsteiner pedigrees have shown their best form in dressage competitions: Dustin, a son of Dolany-Amigo xx, is enjoying success under Caroline Cadorette (USA) in the Young Riders Tour, finishing in second and third place. The bay horse is from line 776 and was bred by H.W. Freiherr von Meerheimb in Groß Rolübbe.
A well-known Holsteiner in the dressage arena is Devanto by De Chirico-Lorentin I (Holger Wesselmann, Kellinghusen), line 49. He began his competitive career in Germany under Juliane Burfeind and qualified for the final of the most prestigious series for young Grand Prix horses, the Louisdor Prize. The piebald bay was then sold and is now competing successfully in Grand Prix events in the USA under the Swedish rider Tinne Vilhemson Silfvén. In Wellington, he finished fourth in the top-level class, amongst other results.
In the show jumping arena, Conti by Contender-Lorentin I (Joachim Schiedel, Hamburg), line 8224, triumphed in a 1.40-metre class under Catalina Peralta (USA). Untouched by Untouchable-Contender (Nina Söderholm, Nordermeldorf), line 18A2, also won a class with Laura Chapot (USA) in the saddle. The seven-year-old once again made a name for himself in Wellington with top placings in young horse show jumping competitions.
