A horse that is still at the very start of its career yet has already enjoyed considerable success has been awarded the title of ‘Holsteiner of the Month’ for November. We are talking about Donata Regina by Diamant de Semilly-Cornet Obolensky, bred by Günther Fielmann of Schierensee. At the spring auction in Elmshorn, Manuela Rautenberg-Hölting discovered the then three-year-old grey mare from line 3317, which has produced, amongst others, the Olympic horse Vitali by Contender (Tim Price/NZL) and the two former Holstein champion mares, Nobel Lady by Heraldik xx and Festel by Cascadello I.
Over the past season, Donata Regina made a name for herself at three major show venues in particular. At the State Championships in Elmshorn in mid-June, she took silver; at the National Championships in Warendorf in early September, she narrowly missed out on a medal and finished fourth. And at the World Championships for Young Show Jumpers in Lanaken (BEL) just a few weeks later, she finished in ninth place. What an impressive track record for such a young horse, who certainly has all the potential for an international sporting career.

“Donata really is an exceptional horse who has done everything right so far. She has a great attitude, is really careful and has plenty of spirit – she always makes it easy for me on the course,” says her rider, Philipp Schulze, describing the Holsteiner mare. “And in Manuela Rautenberg-Hölting, I have an owner who fully supports me.” She is currently enjoying a well-deserved break, something both rider and owner agree on.
