This month, it is Helene who holds the title of Holsteiner of the Month. Over the past few weeks and months, the Uriko daughter has excelled on numerous occasions on the international show jumping circuit. Her riding partner in these successes: the two-time Derby winner and crowd favourite Marvin Jüngel.
The eleven-year-old grey mare was born at Christina Fahrenkrug’s stud in Schrum, in the North Frisia licensing district. She bred Uriko to her Cassini II-Cascavelle mare Upperclass, from the famous 18A2 line, and produced a filly that was awarded the foal premium. Helene’s fourth dam is the Capitol I daughter Comtess III, who, amongst other achievements, enjoyed success at 1.60 metres with Beezie Madden (USA).
Marvin Jüngel has been riding Helene for around a year and a half and has already achieved considerable success with her. Among other places, the pair have secured top-three placings in Paderborn, Ising am Chiemsee, Donaueschingen and, most recently, in Frankfurt. And at the five-star World Cup event in Leipzig in mid-January, the pair returned home with two gold ribbons in their luggage.
