Despite her tender age, the Holsteiner of the Month for December is already a true champion – after all, the six-year-old Killer Queen galloped to gold at the World Breeding Eventing Championships for Young Horses in Le Lion d’Angers (FRA) in mid-October, securing a start-to-finish victory.

Killer Queen was bred by Morena Petersen in Ahrenviöl. She is by I’m Special de Muze out of a Calido I dam and originates from stem 776. She was ridden by Merel Blom-Hulsman (NED), who has already brought many highly successful horses from the land between the seas into sport.
Already taking the lead in France with her dressage score of just 25.1 penalty points, the pair were able to maintain this outstanding result across the cross-country and show jumping phases. In the selective cross-country phase, the pair remained clear and thus had a knockdown in hand before the show jumping without losing the title. That would not even have been necessary, as the two also jumped a clear round in the arena. "She felt like a professional on the cross-country course despite adverse ground and weather conditions," the rider rejoiced. Incidentally, Killer Queen’s dam Princess L by Calido I is the dam of the former Bundeschampion and Holsteiner auction horse Lillet, who was victorious up to CCI4*-S under Andreas Dibowski and transferred to five-star winner Tamra Smith in the USA this year.
