The title "Holsteiner of the Month" for August goes to Callas by Casall-Coriano. The 16-year-old mare from stem 7492 is at home in the stable of American McLain Ward and is currently jumping from success to success.
Callas was bred by Jürgen Böge in Bunsoh. In March 2013, she was put up for auction on the occasion of the spring auction in Elmshorn. With 70,000 euros, the dark bay became the top-priced horse. Callas collected her first competition successes with Marcel Willems (NED) in the young horse tour, and subsequently placed highly in heavy courses at national and international level with Hikari Yoshizawa (JPN). Since 2022, World Cup winner McLain Ward has been in the saddle of the mare, who made her first public appearance on the occasion of the auction in Elmshorn. Today, Lisa Revers' Beechwood Stables are registered as her owner. This year, the Holsteiner has already been highly successful on multiple occasions. Just recently at the CHIO in Aachen, for instance, where she jumped to third place in the Allianz Prize (1.55 metres) and narrowly missed victory in the Prize of North Rhine-Westphalia (1.60 metres) to finish second.
