Holsteiner of the Month for August: Myla

"A big heart in a small package" – that is how American rider Kent Farrington describes his mare Myla by Crunch-Quadros. At the CHIO in Aachen, the representative of stem 7369 demonstrated all her quality and presented her rider with victory in the Turkish Airlines-Prize of Europe over 1.60 metres. As the last pair to enter the hallowed turf of the Soers, they left it as victors. „No jumping class is decided until Kent has ridden,“ said Daniel Bluman, who had been leading up to that point, speaking about his colleague, who not for nothing enjoys the reputation of being the „master of faster“. „I trust my horse and her basic speed, even if she takes an extra stride,“ was the strategy of the man leading the world show jumping rankings.

Myla was born in 2015 at Norbert Scheel's in Duvenstedt. Convinced by the foal, the breeder repeated this mating, and the following year Chester was born, who is now being produced in the stables of Richard Vogel and David Will. Through the 2019 elite riding horse auction, Myla moved to the Züger family's stable in Switzerland. Sergio Alvarez Moya (ESP) subsequently produced her further, competed with her in the Youngster Tour in 2023, and at the beginning of 2024 the Holsteiner mare moved into the string of Kent Farrington (USA). After just a few outings in heavy show jumping classes, the pair secured second place in the 1.60-metre Grand Prix at the Global Champions Tour leg in Paris (FRA) last year. With her victory in Aachen, Myla has now set the provisional highlight of her career.
