Diamant de Casall is currently living up to the promise of his top-class pedigree in impressive style: the ten-year-old stallion is a son of Diamant de Semilly and is out of a full sister to the exceptional stallion Casall. His pedigree thus traces directly back to the famous Kira XVII by Lavall I from line 890 – one of the most influential lines in Holsteiner breeding. Diamant de Casall was born at Manfred von Allwörden’s stud.
Diamant de Casall was introduced to the international show jumping circuit by Marie Ligges. Richard Vogel later took over the stallion and presented him for the first time in the Youngster Tour at last year’s ‘Turnier der Sieger’ in Münster. Since then, the Holsteiner has continued to develop. At the show in Basel in January, the pair had already won a show jumping class.
Richard Vogel emphasised at the Birkhof Stud’s stallion show that Diamant de Casall is not only of breeding interest but also shows great promise in sport. Whilst he himself was still in Florida at the time and joined via video link, the Holsteiner was presented live to the audience in Donzdorf by David Will. With a twinkle in his eye, Will explained that his business partner was reluctant to part with the stallion: “Richi isn’t too keen on letting him go.” Visitors to the stallion show were able to see for themselves. Diamant de Casall displayed great ease and considerable ability over the jumps. At the Dutch Masters in ’s-Hertogenbosch (NED) in mid-March, “Richi” Vogel was back in the saddle and won a 1.45-metre show jumping class at the first attempt.
