With two exceptionally talented grey Holsteiner show jumpers, Hans-Dieter Dreher is currently riding a true wave of success. Alongside Elysium, who has previously borne the title of “Holsteiner of the Month”, it is the Cachas-Lasino son Cous Cous, bred by Norbert Schmalbach (Mollhagen), who is in top form.
Most recently, the Holsteiner from stem 18B1 and “Hansi” Dreher impressed at the VR CLASSICS, when the grey helped Dreher secure the title of Rider of the Year. Never before had Hans-Dieter Dreher been awarded this honorary title, but mid-February marked that day in Neumünster: Cous Cous contributed to this achievement with two clear rounds. Furthermore, these results earned the pair second place in the Grand Prix of Neumünster. “I am super proud, I am not the youngest anymore – so it is about time I won this,” laughed Hans-Dieter Dreher following his victory.
A glance into Cous Cous‘ pedigree reveals that the twelve-year-old is not the only successful sport horse out of the Sestriere by Lasino-Alcatraz. Besides several full siblings to Cous Cous, it is above all the Cassini II son Call me Hannes who has drawn attention under David Beisel (USA) in American competitions up to 1.60 metres.
