The most important victory was secured by the former elite auction horse JL Dublin by Diarado-Canturo (photo; Volker Götsche-Götze, Groß Buchwald), who won the CCI 4* L in Bicton (Great Britain) under Nicola Wilson. Mr Bass by Carrico-Exorbitant xx (Heinz Henning, Tremsbüttel) finished fifth under Laura Collett (Great Britain). In the CCI4* S, in which all British Olympic candidates competed, London by Landos-Quinar (Ocke Riewerts, Alkersum) placed fifth under Laura Collett. Cola by Catoki-Contender (Peter Böge, Schönhorst) finished fourth in the CCI4* L – U25 under Isabell Upton. JL Dublin and London were named to the British longlist for the Olympic Games in London.
Quidproquo by Quidado-Limbus (Kristina Schröder, Hemdingen) placed sixth under Sophie Click in the CCI3* S in Yelm (USA).
In Kaposvar, Hungary, Tiefenhof’s Lavalino by Larcon-Sir Shostakovich xx (Britta Dieckmann, Quickborn), a half-brother of the five-star mare Lawton Chloe by Com Air (Anna Siemer, Christopher Burton/AUS), finished fourth in the CCI3* S under Roland Pulsinger (Austria).
Second place went to Mc Laren by Clarimo-Landjunker, formerly ridden by Sir Mark Todd, under Jonelle Price in the CCI4* S in Millstreet (IRL).
Elfriede Bornholdt, Moorege, is the breeder of Watermill Dream of Taura by Timolino xx-Fleming, who finished tenth under Christoffer Forsberg (Sweden) in the CCI3* S in Strömsholm (Sweden).
There was a Holsteiner one-two victory in the CCI3* S in Moscow (Russia). Caprissima by Casiro-Esteban xx (Dirk Hansen, Ottenbüttel) won under Tatiana Sivakova (Russia) ahead of Zola by Cassini I-Parco xx (Johann Peter Laß, Leck) under Julia Zhilina. The long class was won by Lady Persimon by Lordanos-Sir Shostakovich xx (Heiko Büttner, Schafstedt) under Vitali Sivakov.
In Reninge (Belgium), Caspara by Berlin-Corrado I under Konstantin Harting placed second in the CCI3* S.
As the only horse to finish, Tivento by Talkative xx-Contender (Claus Heinrich Struve, Lütjenwestedt) completed the CCI3* in Yamanashi (Japan) under Ikko Murakami (Japan).
