The Association of Breeders of the Holstein Horse has defended its top position in the updated WBFSH show jumping ranking.
The World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH) calculates monthly international rankings of the most successful studbooks, breeders, and horses. And once again, Holstein is at the top of the show jumping ranking. Among others, Theo v. Christian-Calando IV (Jenny Abrahamsson, SWE-Karlskrona), line 8856, contributed to this success by taking second place in the individual ranking. He most recently won the Grand Prix of Dinard (FRA), was second in Spruce Meadows (CAN), and also secured Jenny Abrahamsson the silver position in the breeder ranking. The highest-scoring Holsteins also include Monaco N.O.P. v. Cassini II-Contender (Ralf Lütje, Haseldorf), line 429, with Harrie Smolders in seventh place, as well as Zaccorado Blue v. Zirocco Blue-Acorado (Tanja Schramm, Ilmenau), line 1298, with David Will in tenth rank. In the eventing ranking, Holstein additionally occupies fourth place, and ninth rank in dressage.
In the ranking of the best show jumping sires, Casall v. Caretino-Lavall I (Wilfried Thomann, Drelsdorf), line 890, is listed in sixth place. Cardento v. Capitol I-Lord (Reimer Witt, Wellinghusen), line 741, is in position seven. Diarado v. Diamant de Semilly-Corrado I (Klaus Kristensen, DEN), line 318D2, leads the eventing sire ranking. Contendro I v. Contender-Reichsgraf (Manfred Birchler, SUI), line 104A, is listed in fifth place.
