The Holsteiner Horse Days in Elmshorn drew to a close with thrilling final rounds in the regional championships for five- and six-year-old show jumpers. The audience celebrated two new champions: Chavaros II by Charleston-Con Air (Reimer Detlef Hennings, Bendorf), Line 1571, ridden by Philipp Schulze in the five-year-olds’ class. And Tomte by Toulon-Carthago (ZG Lüneburg, Hetlingen), Line 8763, ridden by Rasmus Lüneburg in the six-year-olds’ class.
The final for the five-year-old show jumpers was decided in an M* class show jumping competition comprising two rounds. The horses with the ten best scores from the first round were allowed to compete in the second round. The winner and runners-up were determined based on the total scores. The former first reserve champion from his licensing inspection had already shone with a victory in the qualifiers, and in the final too, Chavaros II jumped confidently with his trainer Philipp Schulze, receiving marks of 8.8 and 9.0. Silver went to Donata Regina by Diamant de Semilly–Cornet Obolensky (Günther Fielmann, Schierensee), line 3317, who was also presented by Philipp Schulze. With scores of 8.4 and 9.2, she finished just behind Chavaros II. In third place, Antonia-Selina Brinkop placed the Casall daughter Mississippi R (MV. Adagio de Talma), bred by Magnus Redderberg (Ahrensbök), line 1866. The jury awarded her scores of 8.8 and 8.6.

Tomte’s victory delights
“He is one of the best horses I’ve ever had,” says Rasmus Lüneburg of the Toulon son Tomte, who hails from the family’s own stud farm in Hetlingen. The six-year-old has a State-prize-winning Carthago dam and “has done everything right this year and throughout his career so far,” as his rider reports. Last year he was runner-up at Elmshorn, has not made a single jumping fault this season and has already qualified three times for the National Championships. Despite all these successes, the M**-class specialised show jumping class with a jump-off was still a first for the pair: “I’ve never ridden him this fast before, but I’m thrilled with how he executed everything – simply fantastic,” said the proud rider. The Holsteiner Association stallion Vigado by Vigo d’Arsouilles-Qio Vados I (Witt Pferdezucht GbR, Wellinghusen), line 776, took silver with Lucas Wenz in the saddle after a flawless round. Bronze went to Nisse Lüneburg and Mr. Cash by Million Dollar–Liostro (Jan Bruhn, Dätgen), line 730B.
