On Sunday morning, the young eventing horses were the first to compete for the title of Bundeschampion. In the five-year-olds’ class, a Holsteiner galloped clear of the competition. We are talking about Casanova by Cascadello I-Contender (Reimer Detlef Hennings). As the overnight leader, the gelding was able to defend his lead in the final stage and, ridden by Ben Leuwer, confidently secured the gold medal with a total of 40.30 points.
Six-year-old eventing horses
Here, Ben Leuwer on Caracho by Cascadello I-Cyrkon xx (36.0 points / Inken Gräfin von Platen-Hallermund) narrowly missed out on the bronze medal due to their result in the cross-country, which is the deciding factor in the event of a tie. The pair finished in fourth place.

In the five-year-olds’ class, the former auction horse Donata Regina by Diamant de Semilly–Cornet Obolensky (Günther Fielmann) achieved the best result for Holstein. Philipp Schulze rode the grey mare to fourth place with scores of 8.6 and 8.7.

Six-year-old show jumpers
The Bundeschampionat traditionally concludes with the six-year-old show jumpers. This year was no exception. La Calina by Cannavaru-Caretino (Hans-Hermann Gericke), ridden by Sophie Hinners, won the silver medal for the Holsteiner Verband. After a clear round at 1.35-metre level, the pair also produced a flawless round in the jump-off in 37.34 seconds.
