On Saturday evening, the final for seven-year-old show jumpers was on the programme at the Bundeschampionat. In front of a large crowd, the 35 pre-qualified youngsters competed in an S**-class show jumping competition with a jump-off.
Two Holsteiners reached the all-deciding round and, in the end, Dior by Diamant de Semilly-Corrado I (Friedrich Meyer) and Laurens Houben narrowly missed out on the medals, finishing fourth. Dior is a half-brother to the Holsteiner Association stallion Cachas, who passed away far too young. Thanks to his outstanding performances, Dior was also awarded the title ‘Youngster of the Year’, a joint initiative of the ‘Hetzel + Tiemeyer Young Horse Masters’ in Goch, Rhineland, and the ‘Al Shira’aa National Championships’. This is part of a lucrative special classification, in which Dior’s owners were delighted to receive a prize of 7,500 euros. “Thanks to the timing and the nature of the events, our young horse competitions complement each other very well. My aim is to bring young horses that consistently perform exceptionally well at top-level events into the public eye,” says Holger Hetzel.
Baxxter by Breitling-Acorado I (ZG Tischer) and Jonte Hansen also finished in eighth place. MacGyver by Million Dollar-Colman (Manfred Nissen) and Björn Behrend also made it into the top ten.
